An amazing gift from daughter to father!
We received a delighted message from Ms. H in Tokyo, who gave an original apron to her father who lives in Saitama!
We heard about how this 'One of a Kind, Moving Gift from Daughter to Father' was created, and would like to share it with you.
-First of all, how did you end up ordering an apron?"When I asked my father what he wanted for his birthday, he said, 'I want an apron.'
He started making soba noodles as a hobby in February of last year, but found that it was a bit restrictive since he was wearing a women's apron.
I went to Kappabashi and looked around a few stores, but I couldn't find anything I wanted as a gift.
I was at a loss as to what to do when I found a website specializing in aprons on the Internet.
-What were your thoughts when you gave the apron as a gift?"I'm so into it that I even attend soba-making classes.
I gave this original apron as a gift, hoping it would make making soba noodles even more enjoyable.
I wanted to surprise people by not telling them what it was, but I also wanted to create a design that would satisfy the person who would use it.
I consulted with my father about the design in advance, and we created an apron that could encompass all of my hobbies, including making miso paste and calligraphy.
-How did you feel when you actually received the apron as a gift?"He was excited to wait until it arrived, and when it did arrive he was so happy he immediately sent me a picture. He was also happy with the Oyaji Box and the carrier.
I think it was a very good present.
Thank you for making such a wonderful apron. My father has written words of appreciation on his blog, so please read them if you have time.
*We will post some excerpts from my father's diary.
"That's an unexpected joy, I'm looking forward to it!
Check out the sample order image that my daughter showed me.
I only asked for a few minor modifications, so I knew in advance what the apron design would be.
But I'm excited until I get the real thing...
And today's pick up.
