Beyond 90 Years - Izaki Chemical Laboratory Apron

syoryu.jpg
Izaki Chemical Laboratory was in business in Nagahama-cho, Oita Prefecture from the Taisho to Meiji periods.

What kind of research do you think the company was conducting?

A descendant of the family, Mr. Izaki, saw the newspaper article and visited the Anything Showroom.

The very valuable photograph that was brought in was "taken around the end of the Taisho era," and the client requested that we reproduce the apron and distribute it to their relatives.

When I asked, I found out that it was a sauce manufacturing company that operated from Oita to Nagasaki at the time and was a pioneer in the research and commercialization of sauces nationwide.

Mr. Izaki's apron Nowadays, when you hear the words sauce and chemistry, they seem like two different things, but
It is clear that at that time, chemical research and food were originally the same thing and had a much closer relationship.

The photograph also gives insight into the relationship between the "husband" and the "young men," which is part of Japanese work culture.
The man in the center left is probably the "husband," who worked with the overall optimization in mind for the sake of society, his employees, and his family.
The ones wearing aprons and happi coats are probably the young men.

The apron and happi coat from that time were recreated from a single photograph.

Finally, we took a commemorative photo with Mr. Izaki.

An apron that has been reproduced in modern times, transcending the time of about 90 years.
Thank you very much, Mr. Izaki, for your valuable work.
