With Toyohashi City Waterworks Bureau As a collaboration, we produced a manhole cover apron and a manhole tote bag.
This project began when the Toyohashi City Waterworks Bureau approached us and asked if they could do something using manhole design.
The designs of Japan's local manholes are known as "art at your feet" and are highly acclaimed overseas. They are loved by many enthusiasts, and there are even travel plans available to visit the local areas to see the manholes and collect manhole cards.
This time, It depicts everyday scenes from Toyohashi and is used on manhole covers along the sidewalks along the tram line. It is based on the image of the "tram and public hall" and represents the people, greenery, port and town of Toyohashi, and is used on manhole covers on roads (city roads) and sidewalks. This was created using the manhole cover design of "Mikawa Port."
It depicts scenes familiar to Toyohashi residents on a daily basis, making it a piece that people will grow to love and want to cherish for a long time.
