







Toyohashi City Manhole Tote Bag "Mikawa Port"
This tote bag features the design of the Toyohashi City manhole, "Mikawa Port." Light and flexible Apron No. 2 fabric I am using.
Manholes are also known as "art beneath your feet." In 1996, the 90th anniversary of Toyohashi's municipal incorporation, the manholes were created to represent the city's image as a "visible sewer system," and to symbolize the city's future.
The design of "Mikawa Port" was created by Toyohashi The image is of people, greenery, the port, and the town. It is used on manholes on roads (city roads) and sidewalks. Aprons with the "City Tram and Public Hall" design printed on them are also available for sale to go with the tote bag.
Maekake are traditional work wear that have been used since the Edo period.
Our Maekake fabric is woven on a 100-year-old Toyota shuttle loom.
