Watanabe's Indigo Dye Maekake "Light Indigo"
This Maekake is made from thick, high-quality No. 1 fabric and is indigo-dyed.
The dyeing process is carried out by the indigo dye studio "Watanabe's."
Watanabe's, located in Kamiita-cho, Tokushima Prefecture, known as a production area for Awa indigo, handles everything from cultivating indigo and making sukumo (indigo dye) to dyeing and manufacturing.
While there may be slight differences in shades depending on the timing of dyeing, this is part of the charm of indigo dyeing.
In addition to "USUAI" (light indigo), we also offer "KOIAI" (deep Indigo) which has a richer, deeper hue achieved through repeated indigo dyeing processes.
You can find KOIAI here
It will be delivered in an original Japanese paper box, making it an excellent gift. Why not nurture a unique Maekake with beautiful aging through indigo dyeing?
