MAEKAKE has adopted the Ramen Lovers Club, designed by French artist Stephane Cassier of Yaaaah! Studio, known for his playful designs inspired by Japanese pop culture.

My wife and I visited Tokyo for the first time in 2012. At the time, 90 % of Japanese restaurants in Paris only served sushi and yakitori. Ramen was not popular, and the few ramen I had wasn't very tasty ... However, during our stay in Tokyo, I was surprised by the tonkotsu ramen I had for the first time at Keika Ramen in Shinjuku, and it made me realize that real ramen can be delicious!
Since then, I've tried many different types of ramen during my time in Japan and it has become my favorite Japanese food. It's cheap, comforting, and comes in a variety of flavors - it's just perfect!
In 2016 , we designed several products with the tagline "Ramen Lovers Club" to show our love for ramen. We made t- shirts, patches, and stickers. We couldn't believe how popular they all were!
Ramen is gradually becoming more popular in France, and I was very happy to see more and more great restaurants opening up!
In 2021 , I released a collection of t -shirts and posters called " Ramen is Love ," which has become my best-selling series to date. I'm so happy that so many people love ramen! When I became a vegetarian in 2024 , I was worried that I wouldn't be able to eat ramen anymore. But there are so many ways to make veggie and vegan ramen, so it's okay!
My 6- year-old son and I make our own noodles and soup at home, and it's one of the best times we spend together as a family. From now on, I'll be making ramen wearing this apron!
[What is an apron?]
Aprons are traditional workwear that have been used since the Edo period.
It tightens the hip bones and protects the body.
Our aprons: Woven on a 100-year-old Toyota shuttle loom.
