Collaboration Artist MAEKAKE by Kimata Yasuaki "Dragon"

¥6,050
Sold Out

This Maekake is a collaboration with Yasunori Kimata, an artist who paints fusuma (Japanese sliding doors) for shrines and temples.

It features the idiom "画竜点睛 Garyō Tensei" (Dotting the Dragon's Eye) and a powerful dragon painting.
Based on the anecdote that the dragon ascended to heaven once its eyes were dotted, the idiom is used to mean "adding the most important thing last to complete a work."

Please enjoy the traditional Japanese yet modern Garyō Tensei art by Mr. Kimata, a young artist drawing the traditional Japanese motif of "dragons" who is attracting attention both domestically and internationally.

In addition to tying it as an apron, we also recommend displaying it as a tapestry on the wall with a special hanger.

The Maekake fabric used is Anything's basic No. 2 fabric. It is sufficiently thick and durable, yet soft and supple from the first use.

It also comes in an original apron-style package made from a rice bag. It's perfect for personal use or as a gift!

About Anything's Maekake

Maekake aprons are traditional work clothes used since the Edo period. Tying the waist string tightly supports the hips and protects the lower back.
At our factory in Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture, shuttle looms manufactured by Toyota and Suzuki 100 years ago are still in active use, and craftsmen carefully weave the fabric.
