Aichi/Mikawa collaboration [UZUiRO x Anything Maekake/Jacket release & apparel sales event]

Aichi/Mikawa collaboration [UZUiRO x Anything Apron/Jacket release & apparel sales event]

Cotton cultivation in Japan began in the Mikawa region of Aichi in 799 AD.
Last year, Nishio apparel brand UZUiRO and Toyohashi Maekake brand Anything met through an introduction from Tenjiku Shrine (Mensoshin), a shrine in Nishio City, Aichi Prefecture, where the brand originated, and this collaboration began.

In January 2016, the first collaborative product was unveiled at the Maison & Objet exhibition in Paris. The jacket was made from Gara-bou fabric woven by Anything and then tailored by UZUiRO and dyed with persimmon tannins.

This will be the first collaboration product launch event in Japan, so please come along!

[About UZUiRO]

UZUiRO is a casual wear brand from Mikawa, Aichi Prefecture, with the concept of "being yourself, being comfortable, and loving it more each time you wear it."

We value creating products that make the most of the individuality of materials, such as Mikawa cotton, by using locally produced materials such as plant dyes.
We handle everything from design to dyeing and sewing in-house, carefully crafting each and every piece to create clothes that become more comfortable against the skin the more you wear them, and that blend naturally into your everyday life.

Without being overly influenced by trends, we value comfort that makes you think, "I want to wear this today too," and the peace of mind that comes from knowing that it will last for a long time.

UZUiRO is a local clothing brand that subtly brings out the individuality of each wearer.

About Anything

Founded in Tokyo in 2001. In 2005, he discovered the traditional Japanese garment "Homarekake" in Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture, which has been made since the Edo period.

As the company expanded its sales channels both domestically and overseas, the Maekake factory in Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture, which was the manufacturer, closed down, and in 2019 the company opened a new factory in Toyohashi, a region famous for its Maekake.

It is sold at the British Museum and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and was featured in the latest James Bond film. It is currently sold in around 30 countries around the world, and operates from three bases: Tokyo, Toyohashi, and Paris.
