Exhibition Contents

●The exhibit will feature "old aprons" from around the Meiji period. Most of the aprons are from food manufacturers such as sake manufacturers, soy sauce, miso, sauces, bonito flakes, kamaboko, corned beef, and beer, as well as daily necessities and miscellaneous goods such as charcoal briquettes, briquettes, and scrubbing brushes. A carefully selected collection of approximately 350 aprons from the Oota Masao collection will be on display.

●Exhibition of "Modern Aprons" from the Heisei Era In Tokyo, "Anything," a company in Koganei that designs, manufactures and sells sail aprons, will be exhibiting the original aprons they have created up to now.

● All types of Yamanashi sake brewery aprons on display (planned)
We will be exhibiting aprons from (almost) all sake breweries in Yamanashi Prefecture. We will also be introducing sake breweries, miso breweries, and liquor stores in Yamanashi and Nagano that still use aprons, and displaying those aprons. The aprons that remain from the past will be displayed side by side, allowing you to enjoy the difference between design work today and the past.

●Photo display of the process of making a sail apron
Located in Toyohashi, this is the only place in Japan where aprons are still being made using traditional techniques. We will take photographs of the production process and exhibit and introduce the story of how the aprons are made, which is not normally available to the public.

● "People wearing aprons" People at the photo exhibition cafe and bookstore were all wearing aprons.
Of course, there are people who have been using them for a long time, such as sake breweries, sake shops, and miso breweries. We will take photos of these "scenes where they are still used as work gear today" together with the people who use them, and exhibit them.
