Special One-Day Event
On Saturday, July 18, we will welcome Mr. Kimata himself for a live painting performance, as well as a workshop where participants can color a tote bag made from maekake fabric featuring Mr. Kimata's art.
① Live Painting Performance
Starting at 11:00 AM, Mr. Kimata will be giving a live painting demonstration. His performances, which have earned high praise both in Japan and abroad, are truly spectacular!
You can enjoy watching the creation process up close, along with discussions and explanations about the artwork.

② Tote Bag Coloring Workshop
From 12:00 PM, we will hold a workshop where you can color a tote bag made of maekake fabric using acrylic pens.
The design for this event is a dragon pattern specially drawn by Mr. Kimata. In the workshop, participants will color the "nyoi hoju" (wish-fulfilling jewel) held by the dragon, expressing their own wishes and images, to create a unique tote bag.
Since Mr. Kimata's artwork is silk-screen printed, even those who are not confident in drawing can easily participate, feeling like they are coloring. The completed bag can be taken home on the same day.

Comment from Mr. Kimata on the design:
“In the workshop, I would like participants to paint the wish-fulfilling jewel held by the dragon. The wish-fulfilling jewel represents people's wishes, and the dragon is said to ascend to heaven and return with the jewel, or with people's wishes.
I hope that customers who participate can express their wishes and images in color. I want them to use the tote bag while being mindful of their wishes in their daily lives.”
