"Ichian" - a shop selling homemade yeast bread and sweet bean paste
I, Ushiota, had the opportunity to visit Ichian, a shop in Tokorozawa that sells homemade yeast bread and sweet bean paste.
Two years ago, in 2009, we created two aprons, one navy blue and one maroon, as well as a flag to hang in front of the store.
Since then, I haven't had a chance to visit there very often.
I had the pleasure of visiting and hearing his story!
When asked what inspired him to start a bakery, he replied, "In my previous job, I worked in Japanese sweets and learned how to make red bean paste.
We believe that people can enjoy bread any time of the day, morning, noon, and even as a snack..."
It was an anpan made by a Japanese confectioner!
Since the store opened, the owner had been running it by himself, but from April 1st, when I visited him for an interview,
It's his wife's first day helping out at the bakery!
It was a special day for the two of them to start a store together.
The maroon apron that was made two years ago and had been on display until now.
Starting today, his wife has been wearing the apron to work!
